Steve tells his friend Jack that he no longer wants to go on living. Suicide would make him just another statistic. So the two banter about the alternatives — until in an awful moment of horseplay and confrontation, the playwright brings us to a stunning climax of shock and introspection.

This play was presented in a tennis-court style with the performance in the middle which allows the audience to be on either side.
